Former Liverpool player Stan Collymore believes that Declan Rice should join Manchester United instead of Arsenal, as it would provide him with a bigger test of character and allow him to grow under a progressive coach. Collymore argues that Man United is a bigger football club with bigger expectations, and has been crying out for a dominant midfield force for years. He also suggests that Man United will have more money to spend on better players to put around Rice, and has a better chance of winning the Premier League in the next five years.
Collymore also comments on Pep Guardiola, saying that he is not a genius but a risk-taker. He believes that there are huge question marks over Kevin De Bruyne’s performance in the very biggest games, and that Man City don’t need to revolutionize their team, just add one or two names to freshen things up.
Regarding Liverpool’s transfer business, Collymore argues that FSG are a sporting business and are in it to make money, and Liverpool fans should get used to the fact that the club will have to continue to do business in this way over the next five years.
