The 34th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is set to feature a new keynote event where Apple is expected to unveil its first new wearable since the Apple Watch, as well as new Macs and notable features for iOS 17 and watchOS 10. One of the most anticipated hardware releases is Apple’s AR/VR headset, which has been in development for years and is expected to have a thin and light design, with dual 4K microOLED displays, over a dozen cameras, and support for both virtual and augmented reality. The headset will run on a new operating system called xrOS and will feature 3D-optimized apps and the option to run existing iPad apps. The event may also see the introduction of a 15.5-inch MacBook Air and a refreshed Mac Studio with new M2 chips. On the software side, iOS 17 is expected to offer quality of life improvements and may include a feature that turns the iPhone into a “smart-home display.” Other rumored features include a dedicated journaling app, new Health app additions, and a new CarPlay interface.
